Cumbria Recycling Ltd began trading in December 2008. The Company was established as ‘Social Enterprise’ for the preservation of the environment and the benefit of the public. Our objectives include :

 

• Collection of materials suitable for the purpose of recycling.
• Treatment of materials for the purpose of recycling.
• The promotion of waste Reduction, Re-use & Recycling.
• Providing training and sustainable employment for local people.
• Providing quality reconditioned electrical appliances at affordable prices

 

To this date Cumbria Recycling has only ever applied for one grant to help with the purchase of a vehicle to cope with increasing volumes, all additional investment has come from our successful commercial activity.

 

We hope to prove that social enterprise organisations can play an important role in the business environment while achieving its objectives, when founded on solid business principles and commercial management.
